La Paz turned out to be a touring cyclist mecca that week. Not only did I meet back up with Ken & Eva but we all ran into 3 other cyclists a day out of La Paz: Christine from Vermont, Niko from Germany, and Hippolyite from France (I introduced them in the part 2 video below). We all scattered once we got to La Paz and stayed at different places. I stayed with my brother Sunny at a small hotel where we got a special deal.. He had been waiting for us there already.
Some of the crew was staying at the backpacker's hostel, and since it was situated right in the middle of town it sort of became our group meet up spot. To our surprise 2 additional touring cyclists showed up to the hostel the day we were waiting for the ferry: Kai from Germany, and Hiro from Japan. Kai is a cycle messenger who is participating in the annual Cycle Messenger World Championships in Mexico City. All in all there were 9 touring cyclists from all around the world in town. Eva had made some connections at the Marina and secured a free boat ride to the mainland with 2 additional spots. Niko and Christine agreed to go with her, and the rest of us took the ferry. We had quite a crew: A Frenchman (Hippolyite), a German (Kai), a Japanese (Hiro), a Texan/Mexican (Ken), two Brazilian/English/Americans (Me and Sunny), and a Korean/American hitchhiker (Jae) who we made friends with at the hostel as well.

Hippo, Ken, Sunny, and I are currently in Tepic at a very nice warm showers house. Thank you Gabriella and Pablo for hosting us! Kai is already on his way to the CMWC championship, Hiro is somewhere ahead of us, Eva, Niko & Christine have just arrived in Mazatlan. Ken and Hippo may go straight to Guadalajara from here, Sunny and I will be going to Sayulita to see some nice beaches. We will await Eva, Niko, & Christine there. I have to start shooting more here on the mainland... It's a fine balance, sometimes I just have to experience things without the electronics in the way.. Anyways Paz e amor! Till next time.
